Episode 9 - Shownotes are my Kryptonite

Instead of promising shownotes and then not following through, I'm going to scrap shownotes all together. If you have questions about anything I talk about on the podcast, please leave them in the comments and I'll update the main post as needed! This is an experiment - we'll try it for a few episodes and see how it goes.

Show notes coming soon - I swear this time! The laptop is acting up and I'm lucky to have gotten this far. Does anyone know what "kernel panic" means??

Episode 8 on hold for now

Hey guys! This is my last full week of undergrad, and I've got a presentation and 2 papers to do, so I'm going to focus on my studies for the last time(!!!). My final class is next Tuesday, so I should be able to put out a podcast sometime late next week. I apologize for the delay, but really? I'm graduating from college after 12 years, so YAY!!!!

Episode 7 - Going All White Rabbit

It's been awhile! And there hasn't been a whole lot of progress on The Histories, but there's been a bunch of reading!

Here's what I plowed through during my break:

The #1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall-Smith
Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett

I also finished my Mysterious Mirror Socks, made out of a Pigeonroof Studios one-of colorway.

And then I started some Papa Socks in Lorna's Laces Pioneer. They're done now, and I'm working diligently on my Scarf #21 KAL.

And then I did some spinning on Jasmin's Louet Victoria. I finished 1/2 of a bump of Ivory Coast from Crown Mountain Farms.

And lastly, I got a whole MESS of yarn and fiber. I visited MeadowFarm Yarn Studio and Filati Fine Yarns, and all together I picked out 6 skeins of Kryptonite, AKA Schaefer Anne, and a couple of other sock yarns that I've never tried before. So much for a 1-to-1 ratio of output to input!

Disneyland was great! Here's my Flickr set.

Episode 5 - Oh, My Virgin Eyes!

Thank you to Stitch It and The Manic Purl for playing my promo!

I read Fanny Hill by John Cleland, which has a long and sordid history. It falls into the ranks of mid-18th century novels such as Pamela and Clarissa by Samuel Richardson and Tom Jones by Henry Fielding. Here are some links to the censorship history of the book:

Memoirs v. Massachusetts
Roth Standard of Obscenity
Miller Standard of Obscenity

I went to see Watchmen last week. It was great, and Alan Moore is my favorite brand of crazy. I've also been watching Gossip Girl - shocking! I love it. And then there was The Manchurian Candidate, #67 on the AFI's list of 100 Greatest Films of All Time.

I forgot to mention the Bobbin's Nest soiree last week!

Some podcasts have changed feeds:
Stitch It!
CogKNITive
Bark 'n' Knit (forgot to mention her in the podcast, but Gnat did really switch feeds!)

TheSheepGeek is holding a raffle to support her kitty's vet bills.

I finished my Limeade socks! I also worked on my Scarf #21, Girasole, Mysterious Mirror socks, and a Spiderman Blanket.
